Normandy American Cemetery is currently under a water restriction due to drought conditions. While ABMC is working to maintain these sacred grounds and balance responsible water usage in accordance with host nation regulations, some lawns and landscaping may appear less vibrant than guests typically expect. As a precaution, all plot areas at the site are temporarily closed to visitors to limit further damage to the grounds. Guests wishing to visit the graves of relatives buried at the cemetery should contact staff upon arrival or in advance through our Contact Us page.

Our staff will continue to conduct daily guided tours, and access to the visitor center, memorial, chapel, and Gardens of the Missing will remain open during this time. We appreciate the public’s understanding, and will provide updates on the reopening of the plots.
